Contracted Malaria in South Sudan, and in the USA, ONMI's office assistant was in a serious car accident.

Seeking prayers for Recovery Amidst Health Challenges

Dear friends' co-laborers in the Great Commission.

Shalom to you and your family. Sarah and I are well, but this past week I contracted malaria, experiencing stomach cramps and severe heartburn. It's the first time since 2005, in 20 years, that I've had malaria. I took some medication from our pharmacy yesterday, which caused severe diarrhea. The doctor advised me to stop taking it. I've been using a natural remedy I brought from the USA and hope it will help me recover quickly. I'm not completely bedridden, but I can feel the pain in my stomach. I need your prayers over the next few days to recover from this illness. 2 Corinthians 4:7

Prayers for Recovery: Treden Rousseau's Road to Healing After Severe Vehicle Accident.

Adding to the difficulties, ONMI's part-time office assistant, Treden Rousseau—a mother of four daughters—was involved in a severe car accident in MA, USA that nearly claimed her life. Her small Honda CVR was struck head-on by a large Mack truck while they were both navigating a winding road. Thankfully, she survived the crash, although her vehicle was completely destroyed. She sustained a broken clavicle and a head injury and was hospitalized for a week. She sounds coherent thanks God after the impact. We are currently in the process of handling insurance claims. Please keep her in your prayers. More updates. later.

Navigating Illness Amidst Dual Responsibilities in the USA and South Sudan. 2 Corinthians 4: 7. Pressured on all sides but not crushed.

The onset of this illness couldn't have come at a more stressful time, as there are multiple demands placed upon me from both the family front and the ministry front, spanning across both the USA and South Sudan. The pressures of balancing these responsibilities can be overwhelming, but I trust that with support and prayers, I will navigate through this challenging period.

Essential Financial Support for ONMI's Sustainability Efforts in the USA and South Sudan

Although ONMI is striving for sustainability in South Sudan, we have not yet fully realized this goal through our projects. In both the USA and South Sudan, General ONMI support has grown or reduced to $45,000 per month, which is essential for covering fixed expenses and initiating sustainability efforts for May 2025 and every month. This financial support is vital for maintaining our operations and ensuring our mission proceeds without interruption. Every contribution plays a significant role in sustaining our initiatives and fulfilling our commitments.

Overcoming Challenges: Moving into Our Resilient Home in South Sudan by May

Meanwhile, here in South Sudan, Sarah and I are finally moving into the new home you generously helped us build back in 2016. It's remarkable how the property has endured over time, especially throughout these nine years of civil unrest that have impacted so many lives in South Sudan. For the most part, the building has stayed intact, but we've encountered numerous challenges, particularly with the electrical system, water supply, painting, and, of course, necessary repairs to the toilets and kitchen. Thankfully, with your ongoing support, we've been able to address these issues and make our new home more livable and functional.

Urgent Appeal for Funds to Renew ONMI's Legal Documents in South Sudan by May 20, 2025

However, I find myself in urgent need of $6,500 to renew all of ONMI's legal documents that are registered with the government of South Sudan. It is imperative for this Christian NGO to renew its license each year to allow us to import mission consignments from abroad. If we do not complete this renewal process within the next seven days, I will face a significant fee of $8,500 from the South Sudan Revenue Authority, which would complicate our ability to import a vehicle into the country. Therefore, I earnestly ask for your prayers and support for this urgent need, as it is critical for the continuation of our work here.
