Shalom to you today and I hope this missive finds you well. We have a death in the family My Sister Mrs. Santina Levi Akwitto passed onto Eternity on April 4th. She was truly a godly virtuous lady, a faithful wife, a faithful mother. Santina was a widow for more than 20 years before her passing and was the godly, faithful, quietest, and most peaceful lady, I have known in my family among my siblings, and in the community. This is so surreal that we must come to grips with this reality. Death has cheated us, but Eternity is our guarantee. She has truly gone from this planet to Eternity, first among my 8 brothers and sisters to head out.
We can say with confidence that she has fought a good fight, she has finished her course, and She has kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give her at that day: and not to her only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 – We shall meet again in our Eternal Home that Yeshua prepares for all of us John 14:1-6

Iranian Dead-on Arrival
In South Sudan: I want to share with you the recent challenges that my family and ministry have been facing. Over the past month, we have experienced some of the most difficult times, including the passing of my sister, Santina Levi Akwitto, on April 4th.
As we were preparing for her funeral this past Saturday, tragedy struck again when three family members died in a car accident on their way to the funeral. We are all in shock and need your prayers during this trying time. In light of these events, we are reminded of the importance of living our lives in a way that honors God. We are called to repentance and self-examination in our spiritual walk. As it says in Philippians 2:12, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
At this difficult time, I take comfort in knowing that God is in control. He gives and takes away, and we must take courage during these trying times. As it says in Job 1:21, "The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
Santina Levi Akwitto Scholarship Foundation launched
The foundation will provide scholarships to 55 impoverished students in Kerepi, EE South Sudan, and 7 students at Adonai Primary School in Bibia, Uganda, where Santina spent most of her life. All ONMI's scholarship funds will be channeled to the SLAS Foundation, and we are grateful for the first seed money of $21,000 underwritten by faithful benefactors.
Santina played a significant role in these efforts, and her message resonates with all of us who acknowledge the fear of God in Yeshua. Through Him, we can do everything that strengthens us. We want to ensure that her legacy of generosity and courage lives on through the scholarship foundation.
In South Sudan, the number of new Cancer cases is estimated at 18,027 with 10,233 deaths if preventive measures are not widely applied.
Cancer Education Project—Protecting the Body and Spirit, for example, we just found that Santina Levi Akwitto died of Stage Three Stomach Cancer.
Background: Worldwide, one in eight deaths is due to cancer. Cancer causes more deaths than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined. For example, we just found that Santina Levi Akwitto died of Stage Three Stomach Cancer which could have been prevented had there been community awareness. In addition to the human toll of cancer, the financial cost of cancer is substantial, especially among rural communities who have limited access to health facilities. Cancer has the most devastating social and economic impact, taking a toll on families and communities.
In South Sudan, the number of new cancer cases is estimated at 18,027 with 10,233 deaths if preventive measures are not widely applied. The best and most urgent approaches to save lives include education to prevent and detect cancers early; these are low-cost interventions and can be done at the family level. Operation Nehemiah Medical Missions seeks to carry out community awareness on cancer prevention and care-seeking for early treatment targeting church leaders, families, and health workers.
Method: This project will use the spiritual leadership platform that ONM has in the region to raise awareness about cancers in the community targeting church leaders and health workers who are respected persons in the community. The project will target 100 church leaders and 20 health workers serving communities in Magwi County of Eastern Equatoria state.
The participating church leaders will complete a survey on their awareness so that the content of the awareness training and engagement is tailored to the prevailing needs of families and communities.
The project will also use churches to broadcast messages on cancer awareness and education, the FM radio operated by ONM will also support the airing of messages. Training tools and education materials that have content approved by the MoH will be used during these sessions.
Monitoring and Quality assurance: Spot checks by independent facilitators who will be incentivized will be conducted during pieces of training, announcements, and sessions.

Operational costs from the USA benefactors will drop in the months ahead as the sustainability initiative takes root. |
