Our Spring  Mission trip  to the South Sudan is now set for May 17th . We are all set. We could not

Shalom!

We serve a Living God who is forever faithful to His people. Hannah and I, along with our field staff in South Sudan thank God for your dedicated prayers and support. We have received all the funding required through June, 2 months ahead of projection. God's supply exceeded what we asked. Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.". This is a true promise that God has kept for His children. Our Spring Mission trip to the South Sudan is now set for May 17th through July 2nd 2019 . Rejoice with us!

We walk by faith not by sight . Rev. George Mueller set the example for mission work.

I have been reading the biography of 19th century German Missionary to Great Britain the Rev. George Mueller, who ran a Christian orphanage in Bristol, UK . He was faced with the monumental task of providing for thousands of orphans solely by faith. He was ridiculed and maligned, but like in the days of Nehemiah, Rev. Mueller was steadfast in prayer for everything he needed. He was praying to a Living God and expecting a result. The work of Operation Nehemiah is a work of faith as well. I have been greatly encouraged by his testimony.

The Late Dr. John Garang cast a vision for South Sudan, worth remembering

The late Dr. John Garang said, “ South Sudanese should not take the village to the city, but rather bring the city to the village". Meaning, rural citizens should not rush to the big cities, thinking that life is better in the city than in the countryside. Rather, it is imperative for the villagers to take hold of their community and develop it. Many South Sudanese have forgotten this vision of rebuilding an infant nation like South Sudan from the ashes of war and displacement.

The rebuilding must begin with the people of South Sudan who love God and love their country.

Every one has a shared responsibility. We should not not wait to be served but to serve. The idea that we must wait for the UN or the government to do everything for us is simply absurd and immoral . Instead we must serve one another. Operation Nehemiah Missions is a Christian institution and we are following Jesus' teaching on personal and corporate responsibility . Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."

t though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. Philippians 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. 1 Timothy 2:6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all--the testimony that was given at just the right time

What to pray for:

1- Journey Mercies for my family and our missionary sister, Ashley Andrus. This is also the first trip to Africa for our 14 months old, Shoshanah.

2- Unity in the body: Pray that the Lord will join our hearts and minds with the ground team to do His work in evangelism and church planting in 5 rural villages.

The Backhoe has finally arrived at the Beth Israel Farmland and started to uproot trees, giving way for tractors to plow.

a) Backhoe is already deployed in the field and it has started uprooting tree stumps,

b) Clearing & leveling fields for the use of the regular tractor and implement to plow the fields without obstacles, thus reducing work load on the equipment and farm staff.

c) Our goal is to produce a lot of food in 2019, eliminate hunger, and deter United Nations relief dependence syndrome and importation of food from other countries from taking hold in the community.

d) For the maintenance of feeder road during the rainy season leading from the Beth Israel farmland to the main Juba – Kampala highway.

e) The backhoe can open water way and keep vehicle from getting stuck, thus improving efficiency in transportation. f) Excavation of soil and sand needed to make Hydraform blocks production for buildings

g) Ground leveling for development and foundation digging for constructions: church buildings, residential building, commercial etc

4- Pray for protection and provision: Isaiah 43

" But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior"

5- Pray that the prayer and medical outreaches we will be conducting in the villages will transform lives for Christ.

6- Pray for the training that I will be conducting on " Truth and family discipleship" on NTC 97.3 FM

8 - Pray that I will be able able to encourage the church Elders and Deacons and their families at the Nile Beth Israel Messianic Congregation to stay faithful to the calling for which they have been called. We have 8 pastors who are involved in the day to day management of church planting and management .
