Shalom to you brothers and sisters in Yeshua. We are wishing you and your family a blessed Hanukkah which always comes at the heel of Christmas. We are forever grateful to God on your account as fellow believers and co-laborers in Yeshua for coming along side in supporting the work of Operation Nehemiah Missions in South Sudan. With your support and prayer, this prophecy has come to passed. that "From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering." Zephaniah 3: 10.

Hanukkah ( Feast of Dedication of the second Temple) took place in 175 BC and that is roughly 175 years before Yeshua was born and 245 years before the destruction of the the second Temple that was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70 . But As we know it, everything else is a foreshadow, or precursor, the real temple is Yeshua and he is the light of Menorah ( light o the World) that shine for forever John 8: 12. He said, in John 2: 19 , " Destroy this temple and in three days, I will rebuild it, " speaking of His Death and Resurrection. God ordained the timing of the dedication of the temple in such a way that the main characters of the Jewish people and places, such as Mary, Joseph, Zechariah, Elizabeth, Simeon, the Temple itself, King Herod, John the Baptist , the Romans, the Sanhedrin and the disciples etc who would later played central role in ushering into the Messiah's birth and ministry would be in the land of Israel.

Chag Sameach- have a joyous festival of Hanukkah. Hanukkah Which translated as the feast of dedication of the Temple. "Now Hanukkah was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter and Jesus was walking around in the Temple inside the open porch of Solomon. So the Jewish leaders surrounded him and quizzed him, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you’re the Messiah, tell us so plainly.” Yeshua answered them, “I have told you, but you don’t believe it. The actions that I do in my Father’s name testify on my behalf" John 10:22 History of Hanukkah The events that inspired the Hanukkah holiday took place during a particularly turbulent phase of Jewish history. Around 200 B.C., Judea—also known as the Land of Israel—came under the control of Antiochus III, the Seleucid king of Syria, who allowed the Jews who lived there to continue practicing their religion. His son, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, proved less benevolent: Ancient sources recount that he outlawed the Jewish religion and ordered the Jews to worship Greek gods. In 168 B.C., his soldiers descended upon Jerusalem, massacring thousands of people and desecrating the city’s holy Second Temple by erecting an altar to Zeus and sacrificing pigs within its sacred walls. Daniel 8:1-27;

1 Maccabees 1:10-24 Not mentioned in the Old Testament, why not? Did you know? The story of Hanukkah does not appear in the Old Testament because the events that inspired the Festival occurred after it was written. It is, however, mentioned in the New Testament, in which Jesus attends a "Feast of Dedication." John 10- 22 The Maccabeans revolt and their disdain for the defilement of God's house .

Led by the Jewish priest Mattathias and his five sons, a large-scale rebellion broke out against Antiochus and the Seleucid monarchy. When Matthathias died in 166 B.C., his son Judah, known as Judah Maccabee (“the Hammer”), took the helm; within two years the Jews had successfully driven the Syrians out of Jerusalem, relying largely on guerilla warfare tactics. Judah called on his followers to cleanse the Second Temple, rebuild its altar and light its menorah—the gold candelabrum whose seven branches represented knowledge and creation and were meant to be kept burning every night. 1 Maccabees 4:36-37, 48, 59

Be encouraged and don't be ashamed

" For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile. 17 For in it is revealed how God makes people righteous in his sight; and from beginning to end it is through trust — as the Tanakh puts it, “But the person who is righteous will live his life by trust."

Isaiah 11:11. Israel is gathered from all four corners of the World. Lift up the peace of Jerushalayim.

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea."
