Construction of the new broadcasting studio for the Nehemiah Trumpet Call NTC 97.3 has begun

Shalom in the name above all names, Jesus the Messiah.

Thank you for your continuous prayers and support for the Republic of South Sudan. The political and economic crisis remains a cause of concern. However, there has been some recent progress in peace negotiations to end the war. We are hopeful that tens of thousands of South Sudanese will soon be able to return home. As for us, our missionary work to bring light and salt to that nation goes undiminished in both times of war and peace, because our peace is in the Lord as always.

September - October 2018 Mission trip to the South Sudan. Hannah and I, along with our seven children and three missionary teams are planning a one month mission trip to the South Sudan from September 10th - through October 6th 2018. We will be conducting medical outreaches in villages and encouraging a new church plant in our region. We will also be visiting the Beth Israel farm and Gospel broadcasting studio.

NTC 97.3 FM Studio building project has kicked off:

Construction of the new broadcasting studio for the Nehemiah Trumpet Call NTC 97.3 has begun. The challenge to deliver clear Gospel messages to thousands of listeners throughout South Sudan remains the focus of every broadcast.

Church Planting in Pageri:

On May 13th, 2018, I ordained six pastors to take on the role of shepherding the Flock of God. Three of those pastors recently traveled to Pageri town, South Sudan on an exploratory church planting visit. There is a small congregation forming from a number of military families and wounded soldiers stationed in the area. There is great spiritual and physical need among this community, where there has been no organized church presence since 2016. We are thankful to God that the Gospel is going forward still in the midst of great distress.

The Beth Israel Farmland Progress:

Our agricultural work at the Beth Israel farmland for 2018 is progressing well. We are anticipating a bountiful harvest at the end of this season. This year has brought an expansion of our vision to various localities throughout Pageri County. With your support, we were able to reach out to numerous villages with tractors and support to open more fields for increased food security.

National Day of Prayer for South Sudan in September.

We will be holding our 2nd annual National Day of Prayer in South Sudan in the city of Nimule and the village of Pageri in September. The goal of this solemn assembly is to remind the Church of South Sudan that "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain". Psalm 127: 1-3.

The Bible or the Axe Stage Play:

The Lord has raised up Sister Laura Hazen, a professional playwright to bring my biography, "The Bible or the Axe" to the stage in 2019! She is planning to accompany us to South Sudan and northern Uganda for 10 days in September to gain valuable insight as she works on putting the book to script. Please keep this effort in your prayers.

Our Summer Fund Drive is complete!

Thank you for helping us to raise the entire funding for our Summer Fund Drive 2018! By the grace of God, we were able to raise the entire $35, 000 and beyond, exceeding our expectation. Our next fund raising initiative is for Autumn 2018 beginning July 15- Through September 10 in the amount of $35,000. The fund will help address the ongoing work on the ground and also our family mission trip to the South Sudan this fall.

Prayer:

-Pray for our mission in September to minister the word of God and oversee the work on the ground.

-Pray for the success of the negotiations to end the national crisis.

-Pray for the newly ordained pastors as they embark on planting new churches.

-Pray for the completion of the Nehemiah Trumpet Call 97.3 FM studio building on Mt. Gordon.

-Pray for our Autumn 2018 fund raising initiative.

-Pray for the Great Commission in South Sudan to go forward unhindered.

- Pray for our immediate need for funding for $10,700 to cover trip logistics by July 31st, 2018

A word from Nehemiah as we anticipate the return of the exiles and the wall is being rebuilt:

"So the people went out and brought back branches and built themselves temporary shelters on their own roofs, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God and in the square by the Water Gate and the one by the Gate of Ephraim. The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great. Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. They celebrated the festival for seven days, and on the eighth day, in accordance with the regulation, there was an assembly." Nehemiah 8
