Open letter to the President of South Sudan, Mr. Salva Kiir: Joining the Arab League is a none start

Open letter to the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir: Joining Arab League, is none Starter.

On behalf of more than 2 million Christians who died in the hand of the brutal Khartoum Islamic regime, please don’t surrender South Sudan to Arab League.

Shalom Mr. President,

A week has passed since the news broke out that South Sudan has filed an application for membership to the Arab League Membership .

Regardless of the conflicting reports, the key point to consider here is why the Government of South Sudan, most of whose leaders personally fought for our freedom against Khartoum’s Islamic regime to the north, would seek inclusion in the very league that supported Khartoum’s brutality against South Sudanese Christians?

South Sudanese and others who pray for the stability of South Sudan have asked me to weigh in on this decision coming out of Juba. Their main concerns being, where are the church leaders in the South Sudan? Who is advising President Kiir?

So here is my response. I am deeply ashamed of what I have heard and read, but yet I’m prayerful that President Kiir and those around him will remember our history and never surrender South Sudan to Islamic bondage. We must recognize that we are now in the midst of another crisis, tearing our nation apart.

Who has bewitched our people to forget so quickly, the providential hand of God Who has set us free from the grip of Arab Islamic oppression after 50 years of persecution?

No one in their right mind can separate the Arab League from the Arab Islamic Caliphate quest to subjugate South Sudan and render us as a dhimmī nation in our own country.

It will be a defeat of colossal proportions in the history of the struggle of the people of the Republic of South Sudan against Islamic oppression, if President Salva Kiir and the GOSS moves anywhere close to joining the Arab League. This will erase everything we have fought and died for to gain our freedom.

There is a hidden agenda behind this notion. The Arab League is fully taking advantage of South Sudan's senseless war which began in 2013 to drive the final nail into the coffin of our independence from Khartoum. They remain the number one opponent of the freedom of Christian South Sudan. Led by Egypt, the League lobbied vehemently to the US government under every U.S. administration from Clinton to Obama against the right of self-determination for the people of South Sudan, but don’t just take my word for it:

President Kiir and those advising him must wake up and focus on resolving the current crisis tearing the new nation apart instead of adding more fuel to the fire. It will be a complete betrayal of our people, our Faith, and our country to join a league of 22 hostile Islamic Caliphate states that have sought for 1400 years to crush Judeo-Christian civilization everywhere in the world.

From a geopolitical standpoint, South Sudan's proposed joining the of the Arab league will jeopardize the security of every East African nation and the State of Israel. It will seriously undermine the work of the Christian church in the region. It will make it nearly impossible for the USA to search and destroy Islamic Terrorism at its source, keeping it from spreading further into the African interior, as we have seen in Somalia with Al Shabab and in Nigeria with Boko Horam. This is a none starter.

I urge the Household of Faith around the world to pray for Salva Kiir’s government, Juba Parliament and the governors of South Sudan including those in the Opposition to have wisdom, sobriety, vision and love for the country.

The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 2: 1-7 “ I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
