NPI was first established in 2003 in the South Sudanese refugee’s camps in Adjumani, Uganda as a technical trade school to trains young south Sudanese students who did not make it to university and were stranded in refugee camps without future. Between 2004-2005, we graduated 82 students with six months diplomas in various technical fields most of them went on to finding jobs and supporting their families.

In 2005, a comprehensive peace agreement (CPA) was signed to end the war between the southern and the northern Sudan. As a result, Operation Nehemiah moved its operations along with Nehemiah Polytechnic Institute to the South Sudan from Ugandan refugee camps.

The future Nehemiah Polytechnic institute Nehemiah Polytechnic Institute will be 1-2 years engineering school establish by Operation Nehemiah.

We are requesting a grant of $150,000 to construct the facility on the left serve as a future home for NPI in the village of Beth Israel, Magwi County, South Sudan. NPI will establish programs in auto mechanics, carpentry, construction masonry, well drilling, basic civil engineering, basic electrical technology, plumping, information and computer technology, agriculture technology and management. The graduates will be become self sustaining through creating their own businesses to generate revenue through contracts with other NGO’s and government or public/private enterprises. Very innovative and good performing graduates may become instructors at NPI. My hope is that the Foundations or individuals will partner with us in providing the building fund for the school to help us bring help to the people of the South Sudan coming out of terrible war.
