Donate Shipping Cargo

Shipping ContainerOperation Nehemiah has been conducting shipment of relief containers cargo to the South Sudan since 1995. To date we have shipped over twenty 40ft and 20ft relief containers to the south Sudan with relief supplies and equipment valued between $250,000- $300, 000 This is an on going project into the future. However, our limitation has been lack of storage and lack of chassis.

These are certain facts you need to know about shipping relief container to the South Sudan:

  1. Shipping a 40ft or 20ft container cost minimum $12,000. Therefore all donated items new or used should be in good working order. Donated items, equipment and supplies, ranging from clothing, medical, and medical supplies, tools, vehicles, farm equipment such as tractors and their market value in dollar must exceed the shipping cost. Otherwise it is counter productive.
  2. Rental Chassis is costly because we don’t know how long it will take an empty 40ft container to be filled up with goods before it is shipped to Africa. Therefore Operation Nehemiah would like to own a chassis to avoid daily charges
  3. Your contributions are tax deducible
  4. It takes at least 2 months for the container to arrive at its final destination.
  5. Relief container must be shipper owned. This means the container has to be owned by Operation Nehemiah before it is shipped.
  6. It will be shipped one way and it will remain in its final destination. Otherwise, the commercial shipping company in charge of shipping the container will temporarily rent you a shipping container for the duration of the trip and they will demand the container to be returned to the USA within 3 days after its arrival to the location. If there is no a warehouses or storage on the other end, Operation Nehemiah will be obligated to pay demurrage ranging from $25 to $50 per day . This we want to avoid.

Equipment you can donate… How you can help:

  1. Shipping ContainerWe need 40ft container which will act storage for storing materials and donated equipment to Operation Nehemiah before it is shipped to the South Sudan. The container will be shipper owned.
  2. ChassisWe need a chassis new or used in good condition for setting the 40ft or the 20ft container on while the container is been filled with relief good before it shipped over to the South Sudan.
