Bricks 01

South Sudan is a country that had been devastated by the civil war severely for the last 23 years and this has left most of the southern part of the country devoid of infrastructure.
Operation Nehemiah as an indigenous Christian NGO organization would like to undertake the above project to help the communities in rebuilding the infrastructure.

Currently, Operation Nehemiah’s staff in Beth Israel (Borongole) and Nimule, South Sudan is vigorously engaged in laying bricks like you can see on the left. The work of laying bricks by hands is very tedious and difficult. However, this is the technique the local community is using to make brick to build homes, schools, hospitals and churches. However, we want to improve the way the bricks are laid.
Once the bricks are laid, they are dried on the sun. Once they are dried on the sun, they are burned

The communities need blocks for building house walls and tiles for roofing other building accessories like pavement tiles also become handy.
Block and tile will be used to build the Beth Israel Messianic Congregation, houses and schools

Benefits

This is a self sustaining project to be, in the sense that when started it will maintain its own self in terms of the materials needed to keep it operational and the cost of maintenance.

Materials that would be needed for the production of the blocks are cement, sand, water, wheelbarrow, spade and mixture (which we already have in South Sudan).

Human resource base; this project will offer employment to four (4) individuals in the block making project and another three (3) in the tile making project.

Other costs like fuel to run the block making machine and the service maintenance fee would also be met for the proceeds that come from the income generated.
