Operation Nehemiah Missions International, Inc.
Practical Code of Conduct for Holy Living in this perverse and crooked world
Under the Biblical teaching of the Nile Beth Israel Messianic Congregation

1. The BIBLE is the only infallible and authoritative word of God. We recognize its divine inspiration, and accept its teachings as our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
2. Operation Nehemiah Missions International Inc. . . . (Including domestic and foreign affiliations under the Operation Nehemiah's structure) is dedicated to the Lordship of Christ in all areas of life. The distinctive of ONMI in its philosophy and goals. Those who are directly associated with ONMI, including President, directors, staff, and students from a community and are not a collection of autonomous individuals. These associates consequently bear certain responsibilities and obligations within the organization for the implementation of its philosophy and goals. In order that the organization functions smoothly and its goals be realized, it is necessary that there be a mutual commitment to a corpus of standards which involve the willing surrender of certain individual purposes and goals.
3. Adherence to Jesus commandments in Matthew 22: 37 - 40 "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, and AND WITH YOUR ENTIRE MIND.' This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.')On these two commandments hangs the whole Law and the Prophets."
4. ONMI must follow specific Biblical principles which relate to Christian behavior. Therefore, ONMI prohibits practices which are clearly forbidden by the Word of God, such as drunkenness, sexual immorality, dishonesty, etc. (1Corinthians 6: 9-20). Further, to expect the Christian to exemplify Christian love, consideration for the rights of others, honesty, and a high sense of Christian ethics is to expect only that which the Word of God teaches to be primary in the character of the Christian (Ephesians 4:24-5:8).
5. ONMI is firmly committed to a literal interpretation of the Bible and rejects any attempt to "reinterpret" Scripture in light of "modern" moral or psychological theories. In the Biblical account of creation, the family was the first societal institution ordained by God (Genesis 1:27; 2:18-22) Furthermore, Scripture plainly declares that the first two humans created by God were a man and a woman (Genesis 1:27; 2:18-22). God joined the man and woman in the holy rite of matrimony and commanded them to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth (Genesis 1:28). Therefore, the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; 1 Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23). In both the Old and New Testaments, God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should take place outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Accordingly, all forms of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, polygamy, womanizing, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex (Genesis 2:24; 19:5, 13; 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4). Since ONMI believes that all sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman, including homosexual practices, are in direct opposition to God's Word and constitute a direct contradiction to God's institution of the home, Operation Nehemiah will not employ or continue to employ men or women who promote or participate in homosexual behavior or any other sexual activity outside of marriage.
6. Adherence to: Marriage like Christ and the Church: Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savoir of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and /gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word" Ephesians 5: 22-26
7. Adherence to Family Relations: Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands love your wives and do not be embittered against them. ) Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart. Colossian 3: 18- 21

8. Priest of your own household: Fathers not the church nor the state or its social programs or security are responsible for the Biblical upbringing of their children and the spiritual upkeep of their household. "Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that flowed with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lies down, and when thou rises up. 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates" Deuteronomy 6: 3-9

9. Adherence to Women role in the church: The limitation that 1 Timothy 2:12 places upon the ministry of women is not limitation of either the nature or the significance of their ministry. They are called to minister in the same basic way as men are called to minister and the significance placed upon their ministry is in no way diminished. It is only the sphere of ministry in which women are limited in their authority. Women are not to teach men or exercise authority over men, either corporately in formal church leadership or personally in informal church relationships. Women may communicate information to men, but in regard to spiritual matters women must not teach believing men in away that directs or demands a response.

10. Adherence to Women roles in the community: Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:

11. Widows: Adherence to God's general design is that most women will marry and receive protection and provision from their husbands. However, when women in the church lose their husbands, the church needs to care for them in the proper way. So Paul instructed the church about its obligations in that area. As follows: THE CHURCH' has OBLIGATION TO SUPPORT WIDOWS THE CHURCH' has OBLIGATION TO EVALUATE THEIR NEEDS THE CHURCH has OBLIGATION TO MAINTAIN A HIGH STANDARD FOR WIDOWS WHO SERVE IN THE CHURCH and the church THE CHURCH has OBLIGATION TO INSTRUCT YOUNG WIDOWS TO REMARRY. 1 Timothy 5: 5-8

12. Adherence to Marriage process: " Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh" Genesis 2: 24 Couples who desire to be married under the authority of The Nile Beth Israel will need to accept and adhere to the following Biblical guidelines as stated below. Both parties must profess salvation through the blood of Jesus and be actively pursuing a deeper understanding and application of the word of God. Both parties must regularly attend a local congregation. Must demonstrate responsibility within the community by working with their own hands. Must be known to clearly honor their parents or guardians. Must demonstrate respect for elders. Must clearly refrain from fornication, and be free from the bondage of co-habitation, adultery, alcoholism, violence, and polygamy and lesbianism and homosexuality. Must refrain from secular dating practices. Must be engaged in godly courtship practices: The young man should seek permission and blessing from the parents of the young woman to spend time with their daughter for the purpose of pursuing marriage. Premarital counseling should be conducted by a married pastor who understands the significance and meaning of marriage as a covenant with God, rather than contract.

13. ONMI recognizes the principles of Christian liberty within the sphere of those things which are intrinsically innocent. However, ONMI also recognizes that liberty needs to be restricted in certain instances. Scriptural precedent is found in Acts 15 and Romans 14, where certain practices inherently innocent were forbidden because they could do spiritual harm to other members of the Christian community. Verses for reference include: 1 Corinthians 6:12 Lawful, but not expedient (not profitable for our good) 1 Corinthians 10:23 - Lawful, but not edifying 1 Corinthians 8:9 - Could be a stumbling block Romans 1:32 - Christians are different, and by living like the world, we approve of it. There should be no pleasure in watching sin. Ephesian 5:6-7, 11 - Don't be deceived with vanity and participate in it. Colossians 3:17 - Make sure it pleases the Lord, not the emotions - flesh or self. Hebrews 12:1-2 - Lay aside weights as well as the sin.

14. Certain principles of conduct are a necessary part of the effort to establish an atmosphere within which the goals of ONMI can be realized. For this reason, ONMI requires associates of the organization to refrain from the possession or use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, illicit drugs, from gambling and the use of traditional playing cards, from the participation in oath-bound secret organizations (societies), from social dancing of any type. Christian discretion and restraint will be exercised in all choices of entertainment, including radio, television, audio and visual recordings, and various forms of literature. Also, Christian discretion will be exercised in observance of the Lord's Day. Furthermore, it is expected that associates will actively support a local Bible-believing church through service, giving, and allegiance.

15. ONMI rejects the principle that exposure to and/or experimentation with doubtful and objectionable practices is essential to the development of moral or intellectual discernment and/or discrimination. ONMI reserves the right to make the final decision in any questionable area.
16. Conduct that is an offense to good taste, sound morality, or Christian propriety will not be acceptable. While some may not have personal convictions wholly in accordance with ONMI standards, the purpose underlying them necessitates the honorable obedience to them. If an individual can no longer in integrity conform to them, that person should withdraw from ONMI. Willful disobedience of these standards will bring about dismissal from ONMI immediately.
17. To insure that the code of Conduct position ONMI will be maintained in an uncompromising manner and believing that a consistent and exemplary life should be expected of those who undertake the rebuilding of the nation of South Sudan it is required that those associated with the organization shall individually affirm by signing the following at the time of initial association and shall so re-affirm at such time as determined by ONMI.
