William O. Levi, Founder & President, Operation Nehemiah

     William Ochan Levi is first and foremost an ambassador of Jesus Christ, a husband, and a father.

A Messianic believer from an African Hebrew tribal group, William grew up as a refugee in the wilderness of Uganda. As a teen he returned to his homeland in The Sudan, only to face persecution, arrest, and torture. His miraculous escape from jihad forces was the first step in an odyssey that ultimately led to a new life in the United States. He went on to earn his BS in Manufacturing Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. In 1993, he founded Operation Nehemiah Missions and he relinquished his engineering career to answer God’s call in his life to be the voice of the persecuted Church in the Sudan.

        William is the founder and President of Operation Nehemiah Missions International Inc., a US based -a non-profit Christian ministry dedicated to rebuilding the minds, bodies, and spirits of the Sudanese people who have been brutalized by war and Islamic persecution.

          He is Biblical Messianic teacher, a visionary and gifted communicator of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, thorough in Church history and persecution in the Sudan, and what the Western Church must know to confront the encroachment of Islam on western culture. His passion is to see the restoration of the Biblical Family and Church. He speaks to the issues that postwar Judeo Christian South Sudan and post Judeo Christian America have in common.

In th e year 2000, William planted the Beth Israel on the Nile Messianic Congregation in Kampala, Uganda to serve the Spiritual needs of Sudanese living in exile. The Church in now based in Borongole, Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan and ministers the Gospel to the growing population of returnees.
In 2004 William authored the book “the Bible or the Axe”, which recounts his personal testimony and the suffering of the Church in the Sudan. His beloved wife Hannah is a fulltime wife and mother of their five homeschooled children. Together, they minister through Operation Nehemiah on a full time basis from their home office in Lanesborough, Massachusetts.
